Celebrating Creativity at Haven Village

Our Arts Council sponsored a beautiful weekend showcasing the completion of our first residential Healthy Hemp Home here at Haven Village and invited folks interested in applying for our Spring Artists-in-Residence Program to join us.

Native Tennessee Sculptor, Andres Bustamante, brought his inflatable sculpture “Sol Naciendo” to share on Opening Day. His piece is a playful reflection based on family and our ancestors.

Andres also attended one of our recent Hemp Builder Trainings and added his artistic touch to a portion of the wall in our second hemp home build. Artistic expression is an important part of our creation process here at Haven Village. We invite others interested in sharing their gifts in a way that specifically relates to the land and the use of natural materials to consider applying for one of our Artist-in-Residency spots.

Some of the projects we are interested in are: Building a Labyrinth, Murals, Sculptures from earthen materials, Pottery from the clay on our land, A Cob Oven, Documentary Videos.....to name a few. We look forward to fostering more creative endeavors in the near future!
